The following tutorial introduces the user to specific design flow
using the Cadence ICFB software. It is by no means the only way to
design an integrated circuit using Cadence, nor do we claim that it is
the best way to do it. It is, however, a reasonably simple methodology
for designing a chip that will be fabricated using the MOSIS foundry
service.
We hope that after finishing this tutorial, each of you will
have an idea of what Cadence can do and how you will use it this year. Depending on your project, you
may also want to use other tools that aren't described here, but you
will almost certainly use all the steps described here.
You will
probably want to refer to this tutorial as a sort of manual throughout
the year.
